Hi All,

Running Exchange Server 2003 Standard on Windows 2003 Standard.

I have configured mobile access as normal, when I have a nokia phone
connecting, I'm getting issues.

Checking the log, I get the following:

2010-02-08 00:45:11 W3SVC1 10.1.1.2 OPTIONS /Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync
User=username&DeviceId=IMEI358633010173231&DeviceTyp e=IMEI358633010173231
80 - 121.90.209.153 NokiaE65/2.07(0)MailforExchange 403 4 5

Note I have changed the username.

On the Nokia, I get invalid user/pass (which is correct).

Any ideas?

Thanks

403.4 is just 'SSL Required', which means you probably didn't configure your
ActiveSync at the device end to use SSL.

BTW, OMA and ActiveSync are two different things.

Right, I browsed to the address locally in Internet Explorer and get an
error specified in my last post. Is this not related?

Correct, the error you see when you attempt to use OMA in IE is not related
to your server's response when you try to use Activesync without SSL. OMA
usually works fine in IE, so there is obviously a problem there, but it is
quite separate to your A/S issue.

Ok thanks,

Regarding activesync, can this be done without ssl? What do I need to
change. I don't think this specific phone supports it.

This article describes how you can implement activesync without using
SSL

Not recommended, but it's probably just a case of unchecking 'Require Secure
Channel' on the Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync Virtual Directory in IIS
Manager.
