You can add menu items to the Menu bar (including Favorites) or add a button
to a toolbar. Right click any toolbar and click Customize, then the Commands
tab.

The ability to save searches through Advanced Find was permanently disabled
by security updates to Outlook 2003 that were released in January 2007.
Outlook 2007 just plain doesn't have the option.

| Missing Emails Outlook 2007 [message #426063] |

I was looking at the mail folders on the left hand side of the screen and
noticed that I had two Personal Folders. I had not noticed this before so I
selected the second one.
There was nothing in it so I went back to the regular personal folder.
When I did this every email in my Inbox and Sent items vanished. I have
checked the view settings and all of that and they are correct I have even
tried resetting everything to its original settings.
These emails had been in the inbox from about a month ago to about 5 mins
ago so it is not as simple as 'they have now been read.' or that they have
been archived.
I have gone through every folder I have and there is no sign of any of them.
Can anyone help???

When you say "it seems to work" what do you mean? You don't get any error

Are you getting a message in the Infobar (at the top) saying that you need to
add the sender to your Safe Senders list or choose to download the pictures
for that e-mail only?

Search your drive (including within hidden folders) for a file called
Outlook.srs. With Outlook closed, rename the file to OLDOutlook.srs. When
you reopen Outlook, it should create a new SRS file. See if that helps...

Close Outlook. Click the Windows Start button, then click Run. In the box,
type "outlook.exe /cleanfreebusy" (without the quotes). See if that helps.

| Installing Office 2003 service pack breaks my email! [message #426081] |
Tue, 07 October 2008 04:00 |

I just purchased a new hard drive and did a fresh install of Windows XP.
After installing Office 2003 and downloading all the updates, I found that I
could not send emails from Outlook. I could receive fine, but when I tried
to send I got a timeout error. I tried sending an email from another
computer in the house using the same software and the same account and it
worked fine.
After trying several fixes with no success, I did a system restore to a
point before I had installed any updates and tried to send an email again,
and this time it worked. I then installed updates one at a time and found
that after installing Office 2003 Service Pack 3, the same problem came back.
Another system restore fixed it again. Then I tried downloading Service
Pack 2 and the same problem happened again.
The strange thing is that before I reinstalled XP, Outlook was working fine
with Service Pack 3 installed, now it seems to screw it up somehow. I can
get it working by not installing the service pack, but I want to get it
eventually. Anyone have any ideas?

Are other apps displaying fine since it sounds like the Windows display

We are using Outlook 2000 in CW mode. We have departmental mailboxes as well
as our own and often send messages from the departmental address using the
"From Field". Copies of these messages end up in individual Sent Items
folders rather than the departmental Sent Items and I cannot find details to
set up a rule to move Sent Items dependant on the "From Field".
Having done some research on this, I undertand that I need to write code to
achieve it rather than use the rules wizard. Does anyone have any this sort
code already written, as this must be a common problem?

Is there any way I can attach an email to a task. I am setting up a task list and certain emails give more information into tasks and would like to have a link between the two.
Many thanks in advance.

So did you ever go to your Hotmail account using their webmail interface
to change your password to login? Or can't you get logged in? Did you
ever try using their Forgot Password procedure? Did you ever provide an
alternate e-mail address in your Hotmail account to which they could
send you a new password?
Why would anyone providing you with free services also be forced or even
expected to provide you with support for something you don't pay for?
Gee, do YOU work for free? Your employer would really love to know that
so they could double your work time and not pay you for it. So, did you
ever submit a trouble ticket?
https://support.live.com/eform.aspx?productKey=wlmail&ct =eformts&scrx=1
The Outlook Connector is to only add Deltasync support so it has only
one purpose: to support Windows Live Hotmail accounts. The "Tools ->
Email Accounts" wizard is used to define POP, IMAP, HTTP/WebDAV,
and Exchange accounts, not HTTP/Deltasync accounts. Read the article at
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/officelive/FX102473521033. aspx under
the "Use Microsoft Office Outlook to manage your e-mail" section. That
dialog is NOT under the "Tools -> Email Accounts" wizard. You use the
add-on to define the account, not the old wizard in Outlook. As I
recall, the route to creating an account the control of this add-on
is Tools -> Email Accounts --> Add a new account but go under OTHER
accounts. You would think the add-on would also manage the accounts it
is handling but perhaps deleting an account requires you to still use
the old wizard under Tools -> Email Account -> View existing accounts
and delete from there. Did you try that yet?

Check the raw source of the e-mail in its headers to see if the
following header was used:
Precedence: bulk
That header is used to identify bulk e-mail. Outlook does not alter the
Subject line to add "[bulk]". You or your e-mail provider are using
anti-spam software that modifies the e-mail before it is delivered to
Outlook.
Have the sender send you another e-mail. Don't use Outlook. Instead
use the webmail interface to your e-mail account to look at that test
message. Is "[bulk]" in the Subject of that test message when it is
still on the mail host? If not, then retrieve it using Outlook. Did
that string show up in the copy displayed inside Outlook? If it wasn't
shown in the server-side copy of the mail but shows up in your local
copy inside of Outlook then you are the one running anti-spam software
that adds that string to the Subject header. If the string was already
in the Subject header when looking at it using the webmail interface
then your e-mail provider, the sender's mail server, or the sender added
it.

I'm using Outlook 2007. If I receive emails with a lot of hypelinks, the most
of them are not "activated". It seems like Outlook doesnt download all of
them. If I transfer the email to a colleque that are using Outlook 2003 it
all works fine.
Someone know about this?
